Sailor Piece Masteries Guide
Masteries in Sailor Piece are a late-game upgrade system tied to specific swords and melee classes. In most cases, a mastery unlocks the weapon or class F Move and also grants a permanent damage increase, making it an important step if you want to fully maximize your build.
Most masteries are completed through questlines, but some are handled as item turn-ins to a mastery NPC instead. That split is important, because some upgrades are pure grind quests while others depend more on rare materials, traits, clans, or races.
The newest addition is Ice Queen Mastery, which follows the item hand-in format instead of a questline. It is located at Boss Island and continues the recent Ice update progression built around the Ice Queen sword, Frostbane Clan, and the new LuckBorn race.
How Masteries Work in Sailor Piece
To start a mastery, you usually need the matching sword, melee class, or upgraded form already unlocked. After that, you either complete a list of objectives or hand in specific items to the related NPC. When finished, the mastery reward is typically one of two outcomes:
- F Move unlock for the weapon or class
- Permanent damage buff, usually +30%
Ragna is the main exception in this list because its mastery focuses on a larger raw damage increase instead of giving an F Move.

Best Way to Approach Masteries
If your goal is efficient progression, it helps to separate masteries into four groups:
- Quest-heavy masteries like Shadow, Aizen, Ragna, Rimuru, Atomic (Cid), Shadow Monarch, and True Aizen
- Material hand-in masteries like Strongest In History, Strongest Of Today, Blessed Maiden, Strongest Shinobi (Madara), Moon Slayer, and Ice Queen
- Special-case unlocks like Gilgamesh, which depends on crafting the Babylon Key
- Hybrid endgame checks that also require rare clans, races, or tower progression
For most players, the biggest wall is not the NPC itself but the rare race, clan, trait, or material requirement. Because of that, it is usually smarter to prepare all related drops first and only then commit to the mastery grind.
Ice Queen is a good example of that. Even though the mastery itself is simple, the real grind is collecting enough Frost Relics, getting Frostbane Clan, and finishing the sword path first.
Final Thoughts
Masteries are one of the most important endgame systems in Sailor Piece because they add the last missing skill slot and push your weapon or class into its stronger form. Whether you are working on a sword like Shadow, True Aizen, or Ice Queen, or a melee class like Strongest In History, Atomic (Cid), or Blessed Maiden, finishing mastery is what turns a good build into a fully upgraded one.
If you only care about raw value, prioritize masteries that unlock both an F Move and a +30% damage buff. Ragna still stands out as a useful damage-only option thanks to its +35% reward, but the masteries with a new F skill usually provide the bigger overall upgrade.
