Growing the ingredients turns that recurring cost into plot maintenance. Selling it back returns 10 Tria, so an overstocked pantry is dead weight rather than an investment. Where Mana Cake changes how you play: mana stops being the thing that ends a fight. Smaller restores like Fresh Milk at 35 MP leave you managing your bar between casts, watching what you can afford. 180 MP covers enough of a rotation that the decision goes away. That matters more for sustained content than for short pulls, where you were never going to run dry anyway. Melee classes get nothing from this. Warriors and anyone else without a mana bar to speak of should spend the same 210 Tria on Gourmet Roast, which restores 350 HP for the identical price. Mana Cake carries no level or class restriction and needs nothing unlocked. Learn the recipe before you need it. A caster running dungeons on bought cake will spend more Tria on food than on repairs, and the Cooking Station version costs only the time to grow what goes into it.
