Wooden Club

A carved wooden mallet, and somebody put real love into something meant for hitting. Wooden Club is where the blunt line starts: 1050 Tria from Breda, VIT 7 to wield it. The stat spread is deliberately plain. P.ATK +5, Ignore DEF +5%, Max MP +10, MP regeneration at +1.0 per second. No attack speed modifier at all, which is unusual and quietly useful, since the heavier blunt weapons all carry speed penalties. Ignore DEF is the signature of the whole blunt family, and it appears here from the very first weapon. Where a sword raises damage across the board, a club cuts through armour specifically. At +5% the effect is small, but it tells you what you are building toward and it means blunt weapons pull ahead against armoured enemies while lagging against soft ones. One-handed, so your off hand stays free. At this level that usually means a shield, which suits a VIT build far better than a two-hander does. Breda buys it back at 39 Tria, and no mob drops it. Buying is the only way in. The requirement is what makes Wooden Club interesting. VIT 7 rather than STR means the blunt line is built for characters investing in survivability rather than raw strength, and a Defender levelling through early content gets more from this than a Warrior would. Where it falls off: P.ATK +5 is low enough that anything with real health takes a long time to kill. This is a levelling weapon and nothing more, and the 1050 Tria is best treated as the cost of getting started rather than an investment in anything. Wooden Club needs nothing unlocked beyond VIT 7. Buy it, use it to VIT 15, then move straight to Iron Mace at 1750 Tria, which more than doubles the attack and keeps the free off hand. Driftwood Maul in between is a detour most players should skip.
