MDEF +9 is the highest magic defence on any chest piece Breda sells, and Max MP +20 is the largest mana bonus on any armour he stocks. Dustwalker Vest is built for casters and makes no attempt to hide it. A leafy mantle over ragged cloth that blends into the background, requiring INT 17 and costing 1750 Tria. That intelligence gate is what keeps it off a Warrior, and rightly so, since DEF +8 and Max HP +50 are modest next to Pot Armor at DEF +18 and Max HP +90. Move Speed -0.3 is where the cloth pays off. Pot Armor costs a full -1.0 for its protection. Dustwalker Vest takes less than a third of that, which for a caster kiting away from melee is worth more than the raw defence difference. Staying out of reach beats surviving a hit you should not have taken. HP regeneration sits at +1.0 per second and MP regeneration at +1.0. Tin Tortoise drops it at 3.93%, around one per 25 kills, which is a reasonable farm for a 1750 Tria piece. Spore Deer also drops it at 0.25%, one in 400, and is not worth targeting. Breda pays 65 Tria for it back. Dustwalker Vest needs nothing unlocked beyond INT 17. The Max MP +20 deserves attention. Combined with a staff like Caged Prism at Max MP +30, the mana pool grows enough that a caster spends noticeably less on Berry Smoothie at 140 Tria a cup during long sessions. Armour that reduces your consumable spending is doing more work than the defence column shows. Buy it if you play an Enchanter or Cleric and have INT 17. Anyone under that requirement should stay on Dustwalker Hood and Dustwalker Pants, which come in at INT 12 and INT 15, and save the 1750 Tria for the chest piece rather than buying something heavier that fights the build.
