Dustwalker Hood
A light hood for dusty roads that keeps grit out of your eyes, and at INT 12 it is usually the first armour piece a caster owns. Breda sells it for 1050 Tria. MDEF +6 against DEF +5 tells you what this is. Most armour protects better against weapons than spells. Dustwalker Hood does the opposite, which matters because the enemies that threaten a cloth-wearing caster most are the ones throwing magic back. Max HP +30 is the lowest health bonus on any helmet Breda stocks, and Max MP +12 is more than double what Kettle Crown offers at +5. The design is consistent: you give up survivability and get resources and mobility instead. Move Speed -0.3 is light enough to ignore. Kettle Crown costs -1.0 for its heavier protection, and over a full set that difference decides whether you can outrun something or not. Tin Tortoise drops the hood at 3.93%, roughly one per 25 kills. Spore Deer drops it at 0.25%, one in 400, which is not a plan. Breda buys it back at 39 Tria. Dustwalker Hood needs nothing unlocked beyond INT 12. INT 12 is the same requirement Cyanbloom carries, so a caster tends to hit both at once. Given 2800 Tria to spend at that point, the hood at 1050 is the better half of that pair. Armour keeps working regardless of what you are fighting, while the staff upgrade only matters until INT 15 arrives. Where it falls short: Max HP +30 means a single unexpected hit does proportionally more damage than it would to anyone in the heavy line. This is a piece for players who intend to stay out of melee range, not for a Cleric who ends up in the middle of fights healing a group. Buy it early on any intelligence build and replace it only when a better cloth helmet appears. There is no reason to wear Kettle Crown on a caster just because the defence number is larger.
