Rusty Gear is rare-tier and sits third in every Eren recipe, always at a quarter of the Wood requirement: 3 for Goblin Fork Stabber, 6 for the mid tier, 12 for Junkblade, Junk Totem and Scrap Sledge. Barrel Champion drops it at 28.56%, the best rate available, roughly one per three and a half kills. Junk King follows at 18.42%. Below that come Critter Goblin and Buckethead Goblin at 17.27% each, Cog Crab at 15.22%, Scarecrow Goblin at 12.31% and Patch Hound at 10.49%. That spread matters more than it looks. Barrel Champion drops gears nearly three times as often as Patch Hound, so unlike Scrap Metal, which comes off everything at similar rates, this is a material where picking the right target actually saves hours. If Barrel Champion is killable for your build, farm it. Vendors pay 10 Tria, double what Scrap Metal returns and still nothing next to what a crafted weapon sells for at 130 to 182 Tria. Twelve gears for a heavy-tier weapon works out to about 42 Barrel Champion kills, or 114 Patch Hound kills. That gap is the single clearest argument for choosing your farming route deliberately rather than clearing whatever is nearby. Rusty Gear is MonsterLoot with no gathering alternative and no vendor stocks it. No level or class restriction applies. The practical sequence: farm gears at Barrel Champion while collecting Scrap Metal from the same area, then handle Wood separately with an Axe. Trying to gather all four materials from one camp is slower than splitting the job, since no single mob is good at more than two of them.
