Thornprick

A forest thorn grown to knife length, and it goes in easy. Thornprick is the cheapest recipe in the forest tier and the dagger option at DEX 35. The recipe is 12 Wood, 3 Briar Vine, 3 Enchanted Bark, 3 Living Bark and 1 Fossilized Amber. Half of what every other weapon in this tier asks, and the single Fossilized Amber is what makes it approachable. Every other forest recipe wants 2 or 4, and at 18.42% from Living Wardrobe each one is a real farming session. P.ATK +42 with Attack Speed +0.18x, Crit Rate +8%, Crit Damage +32% and Max MP +45. That attack speed is the highest on any weapon in the game, and the crit values are half again what Goblin Fork Stabber offers at +6% and +24%. Daggers work by multiplying small numbers, so all three of those stats compound. More swings produce more crit rolls, a higher crit rate converts more of them, and higher crit damage makes each one land harder. The result out-damages weapons with far larger P.ATK against unarmoured targets. No Ignore DEF anywhere in the dagger line, which stays true here. Armoured enemies remain the weakness, and that is what blunt weapons exist for. Lycaros drops it at 4.22%, Teapot Toadstool at 0.25%. Vendors pay 156 Tria, the lowest buyback in the forest tier and a reflection of the smaller recipe. Thornprick needs nothing unlocked beyond DEX 35. Build this one first if you play DEX. The material cost is genuinely half the tier and the weapon is not a compromise, which is a combination nothing else here offers.
