Attack Speed +0.08x on top of that is the detail worth noticing. Most weapons trading this much attack take speed away. Briar Blade adds it, along with Damage Up +10%, Max MP +45 and MP regeneration at +2.0 per second. Set it against Rusty Cleaver at STR 25, which gives P.ATK +39, Attack Speed +0.06x and Damage Up +7%. Every column improves and the weapon stays one-handed, so a shield stays equipped. The recipe is 24 Wood, 6 Briar Vine, 6 Mystic Essence, 6 Living Bark and 2 Fossilized Amber. Damage Up rather than Ignore DEF puts Briar Blade on the same side as Rusty Cleaver: strong against soft targets, weaker against armour. Rootcleaver at STR 37 swaps to Ignore DEF +15% and P.ATK +85, takes both hands and needs four times the materials. Vendors pay 260 Tria. Briar Blade needs nothing unlocked beyond STR 35. For a Warrior the comparison against Rootcleaver comes down to the shield. Sixty-one attack with a shield in the off hand survives content that eighty-five attack with an empty off hand does not, and the two levels between them are not the deciding factor. Build the Briar Blade, keep it, and treat Rootcleaver as a second weapon for armoured fights rather than a replacement.
