That double regeneration is unusual. Most armour gives +1.0 mana recovery or none at all, and the robe matches what a good staff provides. Combined with Peekaboo at MP/s +3.0 or Hummingbird Bloom at +4.0, a caster stops watching the mana bar entirely. Move Speed -0.3, the lightest penalty of the three chest options at this tier. Scrapmail costs -0.6 and Barrel Plate -1.0. Lycaros drops it at 15.98%, about one per six kills. Scarecrow Goblin follows at 0.17%. Patchwork Robe needs nothing unlocked beyond INT 27. The MDEF +16 against DEF +15 split is worth understanding before wearing it. This robe stops spells better than any armour available and stops weapons about as well as a leather vest. Against a caster enemy it is the best chest piece in the game. Against anything with a sword it is cloth. For an Enchanter who kites and never gets hit in melee, that trade is entirely correct and the mana regeneration is the real prize. For a Cleric standing in the middle of a fight healing people, Scrapmail at DEF +22 with MDEF +11 is the safer compromise despite being built for dexterity.
