Every number sits between the alternatives, which is what the dexterity line does at every tier. Barrel Plate gives DEF +32 and MDEF +8 for -1.0 movement. Patchwork Robe gives DEF +15 and MDEF +16 for -0.3. Scrapmail splits both differences. For a dagger build that balance is correct rather than a compromise. Daggers trade defence for attack speed on every fight, so the character takes more incoming damage than a shield user and cannot afford to be as fragile as a caster. Neither the barrel nor the robe fits that. This does. Vendors buy it at 130 Tria. Lycaros drops it at 15.98%, roughly one per six kills, and Junk King at 3.93%. Scrapmail needs nothing unlocked beyond DEX 27. Against Trailblazer Vest from Breda at DEF +12, MDEF +6 and Max HP +65, this nearly doubles the defence and adds thirty-five health. That is a full tier of improvement in one piece, and DEX 27 is a reachable target for anyone already carrying Amethyst Dirk. Farm it rather than craft it. The recipe wants Junk Core and Lycaros drops the finished piece at a rate that makes the bench hard to justify for any armour in this tier.
