Wool is the cloth material at Eren's bench, and it is the only crafting material in the game that comes from livestock rather than from killing something. Vendors pay 30 Tria, which puts it well above Wood and Stone at 1 Tria and above most mid-tier drops at 10. That price reflects where it comes from. A Sheep costs 1750 Tria from Hogan, Scissors another 350, and an Animal Plot 1750 more if you do not already have one. Wool is the output of an investment rather than a drop, and the 30 Tria buyback is the game acknowledging that. Cloth armour recipes use it in place of Wood. X-Eyes Sack needs 2 Wool alongside 12 Scrap Metal, 6 Rusty Gear and 1 Junk Core, where the equivalent metal piece would ask for 12 Wood. Small quantities, which is fortunate given a sheep produces slowly. No level or class restriction, and no shop sells it. This is the connection between the farming side of the game and the crafting bench, and it is easy to miss entirely. A player who never bought livestock will hit the caster armour recipes and find a material they have no route to, since nothing drops Wool. The answer is a Sheep, a pair of Scissors and a supply of Hay Bundle at 50 Tria from Hogan or Rendall. Worth setting up early if you intend to craft cloth armour at all. The sheep also grows into a mount if fed properly, so the investment covers two things at once.
