The two are separate items with different flavour and different recipes. Living Bark is described as bark off a walking tree that still flinches. Ancient Heartwood is the core rather than the surface, and it comes from a Rootweaver rather than a treant. Sorting a bag by icon rather than by name will get these confused. Quantities scale with the armour slot: 12 for a chest piece, 6 for a helmet or legs, 3 for gloves or shoes, and 6 for Oakward. A full sixteen-piece forest armour set costs 78 Ancient Heartwood, around 353 Grandfather Clock kills at 22.11%. That sounds heavy until you compare it with the same set's Fossilized Amber requirement, which comes off a different mob entirely. No level or class restriction, and no shop stocks it. Farm it as a side effect. Anyone clearing Grandfather Clock for Memory Sap, Glowing Moss or Enchanted Bark will reach their Heartwood target long before the mid-tier materials are done.
