Wooden Shiv
700 Tria makes Wooden Shiv the cheapest weapon Breda stocks, and DEX 7 makes it the easiest to qualify for. It is where the dagger line begins. The stats say everything about how daggers work. Attack Speed +0.10x, the fastest swing on anything he sells, with Crit Rate +2% and Crit Damage +10% on top. P.ATK sits at just +7, lower than Claymore by a wide margin and lower than most things at this price. Daggers do not win on the damage number. They win on how many times they connect and how often those hits crit. Max MP +10 and MP regeneration at +1.0 per second come along as well, useful to a hybrid and dead weight to anyone playing pure DEX. One-handed and light, which leaves the off hand open. A carved wooden blade, light and quick, and there is no pretence that it is anything more than a starting weapon. Breda buys it back at 26 Tria, the smallest buyback on his rack, which follows from the smallest price. Where the shiv is worth having: any DEX character below DEX 15, and anyone testing whether the crit-based playstyle suits them before committing real Tria. At 700 Tria the experiment costs less than a Chicken. Where it stops: the crit numbers are too small to actually drive a build. Crit Rate +2% means the effect shows up occasionally rather than reliably, and Amethyst Dirk at DEX 15 doubles that to +4% while adding P.ATK +15. Nobody drops Wooden Shiv, so Breda is the only source. Buy it as your first weapon on a DEX build and plan to replace it quickly. The eight levels of dexterity between this and Amethyst Dirk go faster than the price gap suggests, and 700 Tria is small enough that outgrowing it costs nothing worth worrying about.
