Vineweave Pants
DEF +18 and MDEF +18, the only piece of armour in the game where the two are equal. Vineweave Pants cover the legs slot for a caster in the forest tier. Max MP +40 alongside, with HP regeneration at +2.0 per second and MP regeneration at +2.0. Move Speed sits at the caster line's usual -0.3. Forty mana on a legs slot is the largest of any leg armour and beats what most helmets and chest pieces manage. Stitched Leggings from the junk tier gave +28, Dustwalker Pants from Breda +15. The recipe is 6 Glowing Moss, 6 Living Bark and 1 Fossilized Amber alongside the bulk base. Vineweave Pants carry the forest-tier caster requirement. The equal defence split is worth pausing on. Every other caster piece leans toward magic defence at the cost of physical, which is why cloth builds fold when something reaches melee range. These do not. Eighteen and eighteen means the legs slot stops being a weakness against either damage type, and for an Enchanter that is the first time any armour has offered that. Against Rootweave Pants at DEF +26 and MDEF +13, you give up eight physical defence for five magic defence, ten mana and a lighter movement penalty. For a caster that is the right trade. For anything that gets hit it is not. Combined with Dewstep Slippers at Move Speed +1.4, a caster in full forest cloth ends up faster than one wearing nothing at all, which remains the single best argument for the line.
